Franz is Taking Over the World

I should have mentioned this in my first post a few days ago when I mentioned the bands I have been listening to the most over the past few months. Well, hear me now, Franz Ferdinand (a few fellows from Glasgow) are taking over the rock music world. The music scene is ready to ditch all the fake poser groups (ie Creed,Staind,Nickleback) and finally accept some bands with some talent. These guys make me want to stand up and dance. Dance-rock! They are fun to listen to and I wish they would come to Dallas soon. These guys are probably going make the mainstream music press and mtv stand up and notice. Put your lighters away and get back into that mosh pit we left behind in the 90s. Get on the wagon now before it is too late. Their album is the best album released this year. The album warrants a 10. I know I sound a bit preachy, but get your butt out there and buy this album. You won't regret it.

Franz Ferdinand - Self Titled - 10/10

Rock Returns
While searching for some stuff on Franz Ferdinand I ran across this very good article in Newsweek. It talks about the return of rock and touches on a few of things mentioned above. You can listen to music from Franz Ferdinand, Wilco, Death Cab For Cutie, and Flaming Lips. Now I don't agree with the likes of Death Cab and the Postal Service taking over the rock world, but Franz and Modest Mouse make sense. Out of those, Franz will have the broadest appeal. And of course Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) is a musical genius and his commercial success is long overdue.

Iraq Prison abuse
I said I wouldn't get too political here, but this stuff is just ridiculous. I can't believe that the press is making this into such a big deal. For fux sake, these guys are lucky to be alive. This is the kind of stuff my buddies did to each other back in college, and we not only have pictures of it, but we have video. I mean it is not like we were putting our anuses' on their noses (9.5mb)while they were passed out. We didn't go crying to the campus newspaper or to other universities so that they would pity us. C'mon, wake-up people, prison is not supposed to be a pleasurable place to hang out.
Anyway, I was happy to find a bit of humor at The Onion on this subject.
